Guillermo Galindo Photographer

Official Photographer in the Compañía Nacional de Danza (National Dance Company) in Mexico City from 2000 to 2013, where he photographed the Company’s entire Classic and Neoclassical repertoire, and digitized the database’s existent memory in the areas of Photograph and Video, allowing the broadcasting and promotion of the material.

Worked as photographer of Contemporary Dance, Classical, Folkloric Dance and Flamenco at Danza UNAM, under the direction of Cuauhtémoc Nájera, from 2004 to 2007.

Has collaborated with different solo performers and ensembles in Mexico, such as:

Ballet de Monterrey, Ballet de La Ciudad de México, Delfos Danza Contemporánea, A poc a poc (Contemporary Dance), Tania Pérez Salas, Esther López Llera, Saúl and Rodolfo Maya, Lidya Romero, and others.

His work with international companies in Mexico City includes:

La Scala Theatre Ballet, P. Virsky Ukrainian National Folk Dance Ensemble, Bolshoi Ballet, Kiev National Ballet, Mariinsky Ballet (Kirov Ballet), The Monte Carlo Ballet, The Saint Petersburg Ballet, The Royal Winnipeg Ballet, The Royal Ballet.

Has worked with solo performers from companies including Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, The New York City Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, Staatsballett Berlin, among others.

Martha Romana (La Scala Theatre), Farukh Ruzimatov (Kirov Ballet), Paloma Herrera (American Ballet Theatre), Carlos Acosta (Royal Ballet), Diana Vishneva (Kirov Ballet, American Ballet Theatre) Irina Dvorovenko (American Ballet Theatre) Leonid Sarafanov (Kirov Ballet, American Ballet Theatre), Marianela Nuñez (Royal Ballet), Tamara Rojo (Royal Ballet) Sarah Lamb (Royal Ballet), Ana Sophia Scheller (New York City Ballet), Elisa Carrillo, Mikhail Kaniskin and Vladimir Malakhov (Staatsballet Berlin), and many others

In 2010, he digitized and mastered over 200 photographs from the Taller Coreográfico de la UNAM (Ballet Company) for the book 40 años del Taller Coreográfico de la UNAM.

In 2012, he mounted the exhibition Tercera llamada… ¡Compañía Nacional de Danza, a escena! in the Galería Abierta de las Rejas de Chapultepec, with over 100 large format photographs in the open-air art gallery in Chapultepec, Mexico City.

In 2013, he photographed the Mariinsky Ballet performances in the Auditorio Nacional (National Auditorium)

In 2014, he was in charge of the official photographs for the 80th Anniversary Ballet Gala in Palacio de Bellas Artes, with the participation of performers such as Isaac Hernández, Elisa Carrillo, Ekaterina Krysanova, Kimin Kim, Venus Villa, Rolando Sarabia, Frances Chung, Taras Domitro and many others.

In 2016 he participated in TEMPO Dance Convention in the city of San Luis Potosí, alongside Autumn Miller, Krista Miller, Luigy Barba, Michael Montgomery, Mollee Gray and Rasta Thomas.

In May of said year, he worked part-time with the Coordinación de Danza de la UNAM (Dance Department of UNAM).

In June, he worked by second occasion with the Compañía MXCB (Mexico City Ballet Company) in their presentations in the Teatro de la Ciudad.

In September, he worked with the Compañía de Ballet de Camagüey (Cuba) in the Festival de la Cultura Maya in Mérida, Yucatán

In August he photographed the Primer Concurso Internacional de Ballet Premio Vladimir Issaev (First edition of the Vladimir Issaev International Ballet Contest) in the city of Querétaro.

On September, for the 100th birth anniversary of Amalia Hernández, he showcased again original large format photographs in the open-air art gallery in Chapultepec.

On October, he was the Official Photographer of the 2017 edition of the CIAD Concurso Internacional de Danza in Tijuana.

On the same month, he participated again as Official Photographer of the 8º Festival Internacional de Danza Córdoba 2017, venue for the Youth American Grand Prix (YAGP) in Cordóba, Veracruz.

On December of said year, the book Amalia Hernández: artista universal y profeta en su tierra, homage to the founder of the Ballet Folklórico de México, was published, including official photographs of the world-renowned ensemble.

On July, 2018, he photographed the Gala Elisa Carrillo from the Staatsballett Berlin, and the Ballet Folklórico de México, as Official Photographer of the Company.

He recently collaborated on multiple photo shoots (including the Gala Así te abraza México, on September 2018) with the Ballet Folklórico de Amalia Hernández, a company he has frequently accompanied during their performances.
